About Cordyceps

Cordyceps (Chinese caterpillar, Cordyceps sinensis) grows at altitudes above 3,500 metres, especially in Tibet.

The fungus is collected from April to August, but due to its declining abundance in the wild, it is now very rare.

Over the last 25 years , its abundance has declined by 90%, which has increased its value on the market. The best Cordyceps comes from the Tibetan Plateau and can cost up to US$100 for four pieces, which is equivalent to approximately 500 CZK for 0.5 grams.

Cordyceps has been valued in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine for centuries. Ancient stories tell of yak herders who noticed that animals that grazed Cordyceps were stronger, healthier and more potent.

In traditional Chinese medicine, it strengthens the Yang and essence of Kidney and Yin Plic. Kidneys are considered the source of all energy, hence Cordyceps. Cordyceps supports reproduction and libido, and is an excellent adaptogen to help the body adapt to changing environments and maintain harmony.
