About Tremella

Snow fungus (Tremella fuciformis) is a fungus that’s widespread mainly in the tropics, but it can also be found in a temperate zone. It’s rare in Europe. Its name snow fungus comes from its shape resembling a snowball. It’s edible and is considered a delicacy in Japan. In China they also make ice cream from it. Thanks to its high content of beneficial substances, it has found its place in numerous medicines. It contains various kinds of polysaccharides, e.g. glucomannan, glucuronoxylomannan (tremellasin), fibre, selenium, amino acids and vitamins from groups B and D.
